There was a time when I was scared of my parents finding out about my addiction because I never wanted to let them down, I always felt like they had invested so much in me and bragged so much that I couldn’t hurt them. But I hurt them even without knowing and because of that, I never wanted to add new friends so as not to hurt them

, let's talk about how this can affect families and friendships. When someone has an addiction, it can make them act differently. They might not talk to their friends and family as much, and when they do, it might not be very nice. It's like they have a big secret they don't want to share. (it’s funny how the image in our head might be that of a drug addict but I’ve seen other people with different vices act like this)

Trust goes away too. When someone has an addiction, they might not do what they say they will do. This can make others feel sad and confused because they're not sure if they can trust that person anymore.

Money is also affected. I know someone who spent $1000 on Porn (Not Naira). When someone has an addiction, they might use the money for their addiction instead. This can make it hard for everyone to get what they need and make them feel worried about the future.

, people can change, and with the right help, families and friendships can become happy and strong again!
